I guess I'm on a roll lately with 5 star reviews but I just had to give this place a review. Wow... outstanding!!! Everything from the Cheesesteak, to Chicken cheesesteak, to the turkey hoagie, to the fries!!! Definitely going to be a regular customer!!!! But don't listen to what I've got to say... What are you waiting for? Go check it out yourself !!!!!!!!!!!!

Soooo close to 5 stars. I was right from my initial review. I crave this food. We found ourselves and some good friends doing a soccer activity on Tuesdays with our kids. How fortunate that if you buy a adult meal on Tuesdays kids meal is free with a free frisbee to boot! Not a cheap frisbee either. Between our families, we have at least 2 dozen and are ever present at the beach, parks, and kids parties. Well played Mojo's. They have a kids sized table which is just awesome. The kids have always loved the hotdogs and fries. My wife and I love the cheesesteak wit whiz. Our friends rave about the Buffalo Chicken. I used to always go with the Crab fries, but the cheese for the cheese fries is so much better than the usual plastic cheese that it's now my must. Here are the only reasons it's not 5 stars. There are definitely times that when we get our fries it feels like we got the last batch. They taste great but just tiny fries. The last 3 times we've been, we asked for milk for the kids and they haven't had it each time. We bring our own now, but this is a easy fix. They also just got Italian Ice and it's good. We tried Blue Rasberry, Strawberry, and Watermelon. Strawberry was by far the best and Watermelon was by far the worst. Nice dessert option though and I want to try the Lemon though the staff warned us it was very intense.

For the longest time I thought this place was closed down because it always looked dark from the street. Then I came on Yelp one day and saw that there were several recent reviews, so figured I would stop by one day after work. Location : Ideal because it is near the I 355 Maple exit and it is in a strip mall with plenty of parking Ambiance: Typical quick serve atmosphere with a good amount of seating for different sized groups. Menu: some yummy sounding sandwiches and fries. I ended up getting the half philly cheese steak with crab fries. I got onions, hot peppers (they were spicy and fresh) and provolone cheese on it. I rarely get philly cheese steaks from anywhere, but I was impressed enough with this sandwich that I would get another one in the future. I wasn't a fan of the crab fries unfortunately. I wanted to like them because they were highly suggested by other reviewers, but they were too salty for me. I would come back and try the plain fries with a philly or another sandwich in the future. Value: My meal was about $8, and I thought this was very reasonable for the amount of food and excellent taste of the sandwich.

I'm a big fan of Elliot from Chicago's Best, so if he recommends a place, I put it on my radar to visit. When I watched the Mojo's episode, I immediately Yelped them to see if they were still open. Womp womp-- they weren't, but I knew I'd have to make a visit even if it meant going out of my way. I've been a few times already and I'm pretty obsessed with all of their sandwiches. I was the girl in college that ate at Subway every day for lunch, so I've always had a thing for meat, cheese and bread--although I've upgraded my standards a bit since then. Mojo's does more than just stuff a loaf of bread. They properly season and garnish each sandwich into a perfectly wrapped up package. In order of least favorite to favorite: -Crab fries. They just taste like crab seasoning. Pretty darn good, but I wasn't addicted like some other reviewers. Next time I'd like to try some of their other fry offerings -Buffalo chicken cheese steak-holy cow. this is REALLY good but not my favorite. If Mojo's didn't have regular cheesesteaks, this would be my go-to. -Chicken cheesesteak- super delicious, but a notch below.... -Regular cheesesteak with wiz- heaven on a bun. It all melts and congeals together and goes straight to your thighs Now you can probably tell I didn't dislike anything. In fact, everything I tried was really tasty. The sandwiches are served piping hot and I recommend taking a few minutes to stare at your sandwich and bask in its glory so you don't burn your mouth.

As good as everyone says!! Live the interior design and friendly staff. I got the traditional cheese steak sandwich. what makes it amazing is they dice the onions. my pet peeve with cheese steak sandwiches is when other places slather a heaping like of onions on top and you can't taste anything else. not here...they do it right on some of the freshest bread. My hubby had the meatball sandwich which was fabulous and the french fries were a home run!! Can't wait to come back!!

This place is yummy! I have been trying to get over here for awhile, but they always close early! If you make it in time, it's definitely worth it! My only problem is that there are so many choices that all sound great! I went with the classic cheese steak with whiz. The bread was soft on the inside, but had a nice crust on the outside to hold the goodness of meat and cheese so you didn't end up with a grease mess all over your shirt. The fries were fresh and thin cut. They also had a glass case with Green River. The nostalgia alone made me a fan.

These guys got it right! GREAT food, a good value and sandwiches that actually taste AWESOME. This place is definitely the area's legit go-to for Cheesesteaks let alone a great sandwich. As someone who has tried many cheesesteaks throughout Philly, these are tastier than Pat's and Geno's any day. Good quality rib eye (do it right and just order the cheese whiz) on top of real Amoroso rolls. They also have a Buffalo Chicken Cheesesteak (yum) which is a new crave of mine. Top if off with crab fries or some malt vinegar, and I am a happy gal. Their portions are HUGE. A foot-long cheesesteak comes with hand cut fries, which is a great deal for the money. My husband and I will order two different full cheesesteaks, because we have a difficult time deciding on only one type, then share them. They also offer half sandwiches that come with fries, for those watching their wallets or waistline. Best sandwich deal out there, by far!!! They have hoagies (which are cold subs). I have to say The Duke is probably the best Italian sub I've had in years. The meat is delicious and is really good quality meat, the seasonings and oil and vinegar top it off nicely. My kids love the food and the cute "kiddie table" they have, and the kids meals come on frisbee's, nice touch mojo's. Still working my way through the menu, because I get stuck on my favorites, but this is a new family favorite all around.

My husband and I came in here for a snack... well, that didn't happen and we ended up eating a whole meal! Thanks Mojo for helping us be "healthy" for the new year. ;) I had a bowl of their sweet heat chili and some fries. That filled me up - the chili was hearty and had a nice subtle heat throughout. The fries were shoe string cut and was dark golden brown - perfect to pour malt vinegar (east coast style, right?!) My husband had philly cheese steak with mushrooms and cheese whiz. So yeah, a whole sandwich was easily enough for two but if you were hungry like my man, good for you! One detail I noticed was that they charged for mushrooms. Really? Anyway, it was was worth it and added a little something something. So, for a whole sandwich with fries, cup of chili, and a drink - it was $16. When I first saw the bill I thought it was pricey but the meal could be split into two - so its justifiable. Also, the place was clean and the service was prompt and friendly. Will we come back if we're in the area. Mo Sure, Mojo!

Buffalo Chicken Cheese Steak. That's all. I've had this place on my radar for a while, but I'm never in the immediate area. However, today I decided I'd go a touch outside of Naperthrill to get my food on. And I'm damn glad I did. There's been a few items I've been eager to try, but today it was the Buffalo Chicken Cheese Steak. Apparently I still haven't overcome my buffalo chicken addiction and I may as well keep it going because #delicious. I entered Mojo's and glanced at the menu board briefly, but I knew what I wanted before I set foot inside. I chose to do a half BCCS (comes with fries) since I had just eaten two hours prior. Don't judge. I paid, filled my drink cup, and took a seat at the counter along the windows. A few minutes later, my food was brought out and I immediately began to salivate. The fries were piping hot, lightly salted, and contained potato skin (which I enjoy on occasion). They were the thin-cut variety but very tasty and clearly hand cut, as they advertise. My sandwich was the sexy star of the show, no doubt. The application of buffalo sauce-to-chicken ratio was spot on, the shaved chicken breast and onions were flavorful, the provolone cheese was expertly melted, and there was the right amount of bleu cheese dressing. The baked amoroso roll it came on was slightly toasted yet the inside was pillow-y soft. Absolute perfection all around; I couldn't have asked for a better cheese steak. The guy who took my order and brought my food out was extremely nice and friendly. The establishment, while fairly empty for a mid-Saturday afternoon, was clean and inviting. The only reason I knocked off a star is because they aren't open on Sundays and my inner fat kid is screaming for another one RIGHTFREAKINGNOW.

Never tried a cheesesteak on my one and only visit to the east coast, but I'm happy to report I'm a fan. Not brave enough to try the wiz cheese just yet, but I have enjoyed my visits so far. I will be looking forward to their debut in May on Chicago's Best TV, Regional Bites. Warm sandwiches seem the way to go and their breakfast sandwich on the Amoroso's Rolls are great.

This place was great! White, bright, and clean. Excellent cheesesteak (preferred the wiz on mine). Great pizza fries. Happy kids with great kids meals served on frisbees (yep!). Nice location and easy parking. We will be back when in the area!

Mojo's is a great place. When you walk in the Menus are easy to ready and nice friendly staff. I had the Philly Cheesesteak with onions and provolone. Delish! Love the fresh cut HOT fries and was very satisfied with the meal and whole experience. If you haven't been.....You got to give it a try. I'm tired of all the chains....Here, the Philly steak sandwich on the bread they fly in from Philly is like no other place around.

Gave it 2 stars bc my husband ordered a chicken sandwich and his was fresh. Mine was not. Nowhere near Philly cheesesteak from Philly! There's much room for improvement!

Like the old Eddie Rabbitt song says, I'm a Jersey boy. But Chicago is now my home and it's hard to find quality East Coast food, especially in the burbs. So I knew this was a place I had to try. Many people don't know there is an art to making a great cheesesteak: the Amoroso roll, then the melted cheese, so it keeps the meat on the sandwich, the thinly sliced ribeye, and fried onions. This place does it very well. The roll was soft, and the Amoroso roll is so good, just a really good Italian roll. The beef was juicy, there was a good ratio of meat to cheese to onions. I also added the mushrooms for another 0.30. I felt I had a little too much bread as I had to spread some of the steak out to get it all the way through the sandwich. I got the fries and upgraded to the crab fries for another 0.75 extra. The spicy seasoning (which is kind of like Old Bay) added a little touch of heat and a lot more flavor to the thinly-cut fresh potatoes. Thank God this place doesn't do frozen fries. The service was very friendly and they came by to clean our table after we finished eating. Also, I'm glad they have Coke in their fountain machine, though I am disappointed there is no Cherry Coke. And thumbs up for having Green River bottles. I spent $14 for my sandwich, fries, and drink, which is a little high, but at least the quality of the ingredients is good. I would return and next time, I will probably try the South Philly hoagie.

Me and my husband asked for recommendations and we enjoyed the Mojo's Cheesesteak and the Duke Italian Hoagie. Both came with fresh cut fries! And all of it was delicious!! Staff was friendly. Nice comfortable place w baby in tow.

One of my best friends is from Philly and sad to say, I now have one less reason to visit. Because next time I'm craving a Philly cheesesteak, I don't have to fly across the country, I can simply drive across town. I walked up to the counter and ordered a Philly Wit Wiz in my standard Chicago-ish accent. The dude (owner, I think?) was the friendliest, most welcoming person who could've possibly been standing on the other side of the counter. I took a seat at a nearby table and waited for my order to come up. Another super-friendly person delivered it right to my table so I didn't even have to get up. I took one bite and was suddenly standing on a corner in Philly outside one of their famous sandwich shops. It was delicious and the cheezy/oniony/beef juice dribbled down my chin just like it should. It also came with really tasty fries. While I ate, I watched the owner fellow run outside to help a woman in who was in a wheelchair. Above and beyond stuff right there. I'm coming back. You can come with me. Wit Wiz, baby.

Ordered food to-go / enjoyed the original cheesesteak, fries and the duke salad. The food was ready on time and the perfect temperature. All ingredients taste freshly cooked with right amount of seasoning. The bread didn't get soggy like some hot sandwiches. Highly Recommended!

Generous portions, the Real Deal. Cheesesteak: good beef and onions, genuine roll, a little short on the cheese. Generous portion of good fries. Skip the cole slaw side. At lunch be prepared to wait 10+ minutes for your order

What can I say? This place actually deserves like a 3.5, but there's not an option for that ..... My BF and I were actually excited, I had to use a coupon ( buy one sandwich, get the 2nd half off -- yeyah ) Came in around 11:30 Friday ( yesterday ) and it wasn't really packed. The booth close to the window, was not clean. So we had to wipe it down and clean it ourselves.... The owner was courteous. I like that :) The mojo's cheesesteak was really good $10.50 Additional mushrooms for 30 cents and ordered crab fries for additional 50 cents It was good, but I wish they didn't nickel and dimed everything... My BF ordered the Duke $9.85 Which is meh.... The roll is just too bready for the meats... Buffalo fries, additional 75 cents? -- would've been better if the cheese was a bit melted and incorporated with the fries and buffalo sauce.... Again the additional fee is killing me.... Don't get me wrong.... If you read my other reviews... We love to dine at nice restaurants and really tip well... But just paying for everything extra is just not cool... I want to try their breakfast sandwiches one of these days. I'm hoping to give them a much better review.

So I never lived in Philly, but an ex-girlfriend I almost moved to Philly to be with did ... so I spent a lot of time arguing, unsuccessfully, with her about Cheesesteaks. These guys get 'em right. Could use more onions, but these are legit. You can get Hoagies too which looked good.

Got 2 sandwiches, the Buffalo Chicken And the Philly. My husband and I cut them in half and we each got half. Buffalo Chicken Cheesesteak! Yum yum! As I was eating I thought I liked the Philly more then took another bite of the buffalo chicken. If I went back there today I'd hope to go with someone who wants 2 halfsies and we can share! Fries were also awesome, hand cut. Crab fries were like seasoned fries.

Went here a while back and it was completely mediocre. I wouldn't say anything was bad tasting, necessarily...but it wasn't really good either. I would have given 3 stars for the mediocrity but I honestly didn't like it enough to even return...which a 2 seems more fitting.

I spent some formative childhood years in the Philly area and so I'm picky about my cheesesteaks. Seems hard for people in this area to get them right. My criteria is pretty simple. The right roll, the right meat, the right cheese. Onions. Nothing else needed. Or wanted. So. Mojo's is a cool place, clean, modern, cool pictures on the walls. Simple menu. Off to a good start. They have the right rolls: Amoroso. They have the right cheese options: Provolone, cheez whiz, white American. Those are the only right choices. Ribeye, the correct meat. My cheesesteak was delicious. The roll just right, the cheese incorporated properly. The fries were handcut and cooked just right. Here's my nitpick-- something very easily remedied. My steak was overlooked a hair. Some of the onions were burnt and the meat wasn't juicy anymore. Probably 30 seconds less might've been perfect. It's supposed to be a bit greasy and plenty juicy. Tiny problem. They have all the right stuff here. Get some wudder ice and I'll move in. BTW, they are now open till 7:30 so we will be back for dinner!

Had to drop another 5 star review on Jon and the team here. Been back several times and its consistently delicious and the service is STELLAR. GO, if you havent been! You will love it!

Came in after watching Chicago's Best. Had the Cheesesteak with Provolone. It was good, not great. Maybe the cheese overpowered the sandwich, but both me and my lunch date felt it needed something more. More spice on beef?. Good fries good service. I'll be back to try more.

Staff is couteous and friendly, a must have in a small town sandwich shop! The place is clean and inviting. Sanwiches are a little too big, would love a half sandwich or half sandwich/soup option at a lower price point so I could visit more often without hurting the wallet, and my waistline. Always happy with taste of my food!

OK, I'm really trying to like this place because they are right by my office and there are few places close by. Here' my take: The food is really, really good. Every single thing I've had here tastes fantastic and is presented well. The place is spotless. Very clean. No complaints on that. Here's where things go a little sour: 1) There is usually at least one worker on a cell phone each time I go in, and I usually go in around 12. Not the right thing to do ever, much less during the lunch rush. Make the cell phones go away. 2) Every time I've asked for a explanation of the items on the board, nobody know. Today, "green chili" was shown on the chalkboard. I asked, because I often get the chili, and wanted to know what the "green meant". The answer that came back was - "I don't really know, I think it's a little hotter." No attempt to find out for me was made. I just got the regular chili. (Which is quite good.) 3) No upsell. You're in business - once again, there was not question from the counter person as to whether I might like to have cheese and/or onions in my chili. I would have paid for them of course, but the question never came. You missed out on some money folks. To stay in business, you have to ask for it. Like I said, the food is just fantastic here, although a bit expensive, but the quality makes up for it. I do suggest you go to Mojo's and decide for yourself.

Stopped in for lunch, since I've been hearing good things about Mojo's. I had the half sandwich and soup, I choose the chicken cheesesteak and chicken noodle soup. Both these items had huge taste and freshness. I even got fries with it, which was a mistake I'm sure. I believe this to be what an authentic cheesesteak would taste like in Philadelphia. I will return to try more east coast eats.

I stopped in today for the first time and will back again - soon! I had a Halfsie - 1/2 cheesesteak wit onions, mushrooms and whiz and 1/2 order buffalo cheese fries. The sandwich was awesome - tender, moist and perfect mix on a soft roll. And the fries were incredible - can't wait to go back and try the other varieties. I'm not a small guy and I had more than enough with this order. The place is spotless and the service was quick and efficient. I talked to the owner Jon for about 10 minutes - great guy and for someone that is running his first restaurant he really has his act together. The location is a bit off the beaten path but if he keeps this up he should be successful.

Great food at a reasonable price. We love nearby and have never been disappointed! Their buffalo chicken cheestake and chicken cheese steak are both great! Definitely stop by. The only issue is that they aren't open later.

When I first saw the coming soon structure of Mojo's in my hometown I was pleased to see someone finally taking over the old Kozmo's with a different theme. Then upon entering the door I read the sign "New Owners". My two cents before I talk about my meal. First and foremost this plaza is located in a dynamite location with businesses of 30 years as tenants. Take into consideration the plethora of residential condos and industrial facilities behind the plaza not to mention all the houses across the street. Plus you are located right off a major highway for easy access to visitors from other towns. Just what I mentioned in these short sentences is a strong intro formula to the best visual and word of mouth marketing. I understand Mojo's is new to the area and I do not know their background or following. I know what I ate I enjoyed in a comfortable atmosphere. Upon my inital visit I had no idea they closed early everyday roughly 2pm or 3pm. I strolled in about 2:45pm and the chairs were up so I made plans to visit again which bring me to today. I was in the mood for breakfast and the "egg on a roll" caught my eye. It is served on a baked amoroso roll which I loved! However I should have requested the bread to be toasted but now I know for next time (no harm, no foul). I also chose to have it served with sausage and the cashier informed me its a maple sausage link the size of an Italian sausage. I was like "You had me at maple brother!"....LOL! I did asked if they served any kind of potato side like a hashbrown, unfortuately they don't. The hand cut jersey shore fries were not ready at 9am so I only had the sandwich and coffee. My hopes for future visits the fries would be ready but who am I to judge they've only been open a few weeks and eventually protocol will change. From what I gather looking like a nosey rosie as I stalked their menu they are a cheesesteak and hoagie joint first. Believe me I will attack one or two of them lunch sandwiches in the near future, it ain't over yet. The restaurant's name reminds me of this scene from Austin Powers. youtube.com/watch?v=gEuw…

Saturday late lunch. Sorry -I inconvenienced them by asking questions about the menu. I asked about the "Something" beach crab fries- mr rude says " well they're just fries with bay seasoning -like I should know. We had to clean off our table and chairs. The tortilla soup was runny and just like tomato soup. No tortillas strips or anything! I asked for a refund for the soup. The mojo cheesesteak I ordered was actually delivered as a chicken cheesesteak. It was delicious! I think you have to be a regular to understand the process. I'm from chicago and thought you ordered and then got what you ordered. East coast thing? It must be a nostalgia thing for this place. I remember taking out of town business associates to Portillos one time. They didn't get it and still don't. One other note- watch the guy who makes your sandwich- ours was wearing gloves but touching everything he shouldn't have been. Sandwiches 5 stars Fries -1 cold and nasty Soup 0 stars Service 1 star Cleanliness -1 star

I love this place, great cheesesteak sandwiches, the fresh cut fries are very good, they have Coke products, and the music they play is usually good as well (might be XRT). The people that work there are friendly. Last night got a good suggestion about the buffalo chicken cheesesteak- white American cheese with ranch rather than blue cheese - tasty.

Mojo's sandwiches are so good, you could easily think you were at Sonny's Famous, Philip's, or Joe's Steak and Soda Shop...I've been all over Philly, and those are pretty much the top three...you could make an argument for Campo's Deli as belonging in the top three, but this isn't a philly review for philly. The sandwich wit is literally perfect. But the fries...oh the fries...if the fries came out hot the first time...or the second time....or the third time, it would be a slam dunk 5 star rating all year long. I just can't justify going back for a fantastic sandwich and meh fries...If I could make fries as good as theirs COULD be at home, I'd take out their sandwiches and eat at home. To be honest, the diametric opposition of perfect sandwich and meh fries would have cost 1.5 stars if that was an option, but everyone who works there is SO nice, that they probably would have wound up with four stars from me anyway. Please Mojo's PLEASE....fix your fries...I'd probably give up Italian Beef sandwiches in favor of the Phillys here if only the fries were on plane with the rest of the food!

Holy deliciousness!! Awesome new restaurant in Downers Grove. They have a really extensive menu (only hard part is what to pick.) Super cute decor - it's set up with a beachy feel and even the bathrooms are decked out. There's a little table for kiddos to hang out and color too. The owner let me do 1/2 chicken cheesesteak, 1/2 chicken hoagie so I could have the best of both worlds. The only hard part was finding room in my tummy to fit it all! The portions are huge and everything is so good. I can tell that breakfast there would be delish as well - have to try it sometime in the future!

Stopped in for a sub. The restaurant is clean and neat inside. The first thing that hits you was the price. Expensive for what you get. I ordered an Italian and a small drink for over $12. While the sub was ok, it wasn't anywhere near with the price. Bun from a bag, typical cold cut combo. The lettuce and tomato were fresh and tasty. I guess if you don't mind paying for the "hipster" sub shop ambiance it's ok. I can't recommend them. My lunch should have been no more than 8 bucks.

I am from the East Coast and this is the place I've been waiting for - the most authentic Philadelphia cheesesteak you'll find in the midwest. Generous portions of real deal ribeye, AMOROSO bread (they import it from Philly) - this is not a midwestern version of a venerable east coast tradition. It's the real thing. My kids were happy with their meals - served on Frisbees. My wife tried the cheeze whiz on her cheesesteak - I was doubtful but she gave it a thumbs up. Nice vibe. It's one of those places that are so good you don't want to tell anyone about it except you want it to succeed and be around forever so you tell everyone. Now if I could only get a bagel.

Fantastic little Philly Cheesesteak place!! I stopped here because a friend's review. I haven't had a Philly cheesesteak besides and rare steak 'em sandwich that my husband makes once every 5 years? Not the same at all!! Or the old Mr. Phillies restaurant chain that used to be around in the 1980's!? This was way different!! I was trying to decide what size to get because someone else on here said they were sooooo huge and shared 1 with his whole family?? Well if your hungry just get a whole one because I did and I practically finished the whole thing! It was that good- I couldn't stop!! It was 12" compared to 6" the guy behind the counter suggested I get the larger one and I could always finish it later- which I did!! Made fresh with the appropriate amount of cheese and just the right amount of onion which I wish I asked for no onion because I normally hate onion but this was good! The cheesesteak come with a free order of small fries which was perfect- homemade cut fries, not too crispy, not too soft! I will definitely try those again!! And do they have cheese sauce for their fries?? I will have to check that out! I was confused where it was but my GPS sent me down by the Dan's Pizza which I know where that is!! I didn't even know there was a new place there!? I went down too far on Belmont and had to turn around! Next time I go by I'll have to try one of their other concoctions! I definitely recommend! Great, yummy little Philly cheesesteak place!! Lunchtime is crazy busy in that strip mall so know that if you go in at lunchtime. I drove around 3 times and there wasn't anything plus the parking lot is confusing so watch where you're going or you'll run someone over!!

Awesome new dig in the suburbs Clean decor -- offers great Philly cheesesteaks, & sea-salted crunchy baked fries.

My wife and I finally gave Mojo's a try after talking about going there for a long time since it opened. I ordered the crab fries and the cheesesteak with cheese wiz and added mushrooms it was delicious! I never have had or heard of crab fries before, they were very good. They are fries with seasoning that is usually used for seafood bakes. My wife had the cheesesteak hoagie and enjoyed it as well. We will definitely go back!

Went back again to Mojo's East Coast Eats and was not disappointed. The Philly Cheese Steak sandwich and fries were exceptional per usual. Mojo's even has the bread/rolls shipped in from Philadelphia because they couldn't find the right kind of bread here in Chicago. That attention to detail pays off in a delicious sandwich. Truly, this is the real deal if you want an authentic Philly Cheese Steak sandwich. Coincidentally, WGN was also there filming an episode of Chicago's Best---they had asked local viewers "who makes the best cheese steak sandwich in Chicago" and Mojo's was mentioned over and over again. I cannot agree more!!

Opened four months ago, I stopped in for my first visit today. Very clean inside, friendly staff. I was there for a late lunch around 2:30 and was the only customer in the place. I had a chance to talk to the owner who definitely seems to know East coast eats (better than I). So I tried the Cheesesteak sandwich and I'm a fan. This is a HUGE sandwich which comes on a perfect sandwich roll. When I say this is big sandwich, I mean it's a big sandwich! Most restaurants would give you half this and call it a sandwich. I have a healthy appetite and stopped in for a late lunch and was pretty hungry at that point. This thing filled me up fast! I couldn't even finish the excellent side of fries. The hand cut fries were thin, crispy, and, well, very, very good. I will definitely be back for another, or visit some of the other menu options. Their hours have changed. The now open at 10:00 am and open until 7:30. On Saturday they open at 8:00 or 8:30 am. Definitely worth checking out.

My boyfriend is from Philly, so we were SO excited to find this place! I got the pizza steak and crab fries. My bf (Harry) got Mojo's cheesesteak and the Jersey Shore cheese fries. Now, since I have only been to Philly once and haven't had a "REAL" Philly Cheesesteak, I found the Pizza Steak to be really good, and the crab fries were AWESOME. I will definitely come back for the crab fries alone. Get extra cheese wiz though, 'cause you will go through it fast. Also--you get a lot of bang for your buck. I got two meals out of the sandwich and fries. You could probably get a half one plus fries and have that fill you up just fine. Only slight inconvenience we found was that Harry's sandwich wasn't as hot as he liked (mine was fine though, so I dunno what happened there) and the wiz needed to be warmed up. But that's really no big deal. Being from Philly, Harry is SUPER particular about cheesesteaks and the like. His verdict was that it was above average for the area, but it would only be average if it was in Philly. Still, he definitely enjoyed it and said we should go back. It was nice to get a little reminder of home, I think. Especially since the owner is from Philly. He was friendly and talked to Harry a little bit about "back home." Food came quick, too. So, if you're from the East Coast, you will probably enjoy this place but won't be insanely impressed. If you are local, or aren't as familiar with East Coast style food, then I think you will probably really enjoy the food and won't notice if it's not as good as back in Philly. We'll definitely come back!

Mojo's East Coast Eats is a hidden gem! I love everything about this restaurant, everything on the menu is as good as it gets. My favorite is the Mojo's Cheesesteak. It is a generous portion of deliciousness! The fries are the best I ever had. We have used Mojo's to cater a few business functions I hosted and everyone raves about the great food. Keep up the great work! I am a customer for life!

Cheesesteaks are spot on. I mean what can I say other than Whiz Wit... The chicken philly is good too, but the Steak Whiz Wit is AWESOME. The fries are ok, could be better, but I don't care when I'm shoving down a steak Sammy. Some people complain about the prices, but I don't think they are expensive, gotta remember people you are eating rib eye steak, not mc d's. The one thing that really sucks is the hours!!! 7:30pm??? Stay open late so I can come I and order 2 or tree steaks.

I ate here for lunch for the first time today. The menu seemed tailor made for my taste in sandwiches because I could have chosen any of about 10 items that I was interested in. I ordered the Mojo's cheese steak with provolone, which is excellent! I opted for a 6 inch sandwich (instead of the 12 in. option) because all sandwiches come with fries, and I'm always interested in good fries. These were good, so I made the right choice. I would have given 5 stars, but I only ate there once and would prefer to try the rest of the menu first. I'll be back to try other sandwiches, I'm sure. The atmosphere of the restaurant was clean and cheerful, and the owner was talking to the customers as well, which is something that I think makes the place friendly and inviting. Highly recommended.

The price is a little steep, but for a great sandwich at a "mom and pop" establishment I'm glad to pay. You won't regret the decision. As the flavors enter your mouth you'll forget all about the fact you paid a few bucks more than you would at a comparable chain franchise dump. Try it, you won't be disappointed. Clean, friendly atmosphere. Owner is a solid dude.

Came in around 2pm. For a place with a reputation for their cheesesteaks, why do they close at 2:30? No matter, I got in and there was no wait. The buffalo chicken cheesesteak is awesome! Remember... cheez whiz is pretty salty already, no need to salt your fries! Not exactly in my general area to be out and about, but I will be back to try more.

I had the Buffalo Chicken cheese steak and it was amazing! The roll/bread was perfect, very soft. The buffalo chicken was done well and tasted amazing. Very well balanced, the ratio of sauce & dressing to chicken was perfect. The sandwich is huge and comes with fries. One thing that stopped me from trying it sooner was the cost and I don't eat very large portions. I found out you can do half a sandwich and soup for a reasonable price. That is the way I'm going in the future so a no issue! As for this one, I saved half the sandwich for dinner.

The owners are great and the breakfast is amazing. Local coffee and fresh ingredients.get the egg on a roll with sausage, it is delicious. The sausage is a link the size of a polish. I can't wait to try their cheesesteaks.

Over-rated, close, but no cigar. I had a pizza steak last week with 2 big slices of provolone sitting on top un melted. I thought this place was supposed to be legit. I am only going 2 stars because the food was weak and it was a longer drive than I expected to get there. MAY, 2015.

entered with high hopes. good reviews on yelp. I'm always looking for a cheese steak like I used to get in philly. was majorly disappointed. the good: clean, friendly staff, incredibly good fries the bad: where do I start... there was virtually no cheese(white American) or onions on the sandwich. and I have to say it was THE DRIEST sandwich I've ever had. in addition to almost no cheese, the meet was overcooked to the point of shoe leatheriness. and a couple times I actually crunched on the meat, it was so crispy. and the sandwich was not at all warm. maybe they were having an off day, I don't know. i'll give it one more try. I don't know how they could do any worse. , I guess i'll have to rely on jersey mike's.

I am the only one giving one star but I am trying to protect Phili steaks reputation. Not very good. I grew up on steaks and even worked on a flat top when I was younger cooking steaks in Phily suburbs. This is another pretender in chicago to be a True Philly steak shop. First I ordered it with banana peppers and cashier gives me attitude, and they just put it in a cup on the side they did not cook it with the steak. It also tasted like they did not salt n pepper the steak and the onions seemed like they were cooked separately from the steak and mixed in at the end. I know how to make a steak I grew up on Phil and Jims in Brookhaven PA. and they know how to after doing it now for 50 years This steak was dry, no flavor no juiciness, fries were good but u go here for steaks. Penn Station in Oak Brook is much much better and they are a chain restaurant for steaks. Don't bother going here and these other 4 and 5 stars ratings have no clue this place is just a pretender even with the good bread. Which can be gotten parbaked and finnished in store if I remember from SYSCOfoods. They did not even have Tastycakes hell Jersey Mikes has them. Busy place I guess there are people don't know what a true steak taste like. U can't hide a good steak in chez wiz or another cheese. Order it without cheese and u find out what kind of steak u have. BTW, even the so called Genos in Philly is just a tourist attraction and not a good steak. You have to go around the suburbs of Philly to get the great subs.

The Mojo staff was very nice. Overall food was okay. Cheesesteaks were a little gritty. I like the combinations of food they have. Like pizza fries. However the cheese should probably be melted. If you are looking for a blue collar diner and are looking for something new, it's worth a try.

This is the best place for a true cheesesteak other then flying to Philly. The people working here are great and they have helped heal the pain of the previous restaurant that occupied this location. The sandwich is tasty and filling, my wife and I shared one and we were both full. We have been back for more and the quality is there. This place is for real and you won't be disappointed. Order your cheesesteak the true Philly way..."Wiz With".

Very good subs with shredded lettuce just like they should be. The cheesesteak with hand cut fries were nice and crispy. Not the cheapest option but you get quality and fresh products that can't be beat.

I feel like this place is needs more credit than it gets. The atmosphere is one of the most friendly in the downers grove area and the seating is very open. The service is high quality and the sandwiches are served "Phily style" (which means on a hoggy bun) and are very good. The quality of meat is excellent, the bun tasted fresh and made daily and the fries were cooked perfectly. In fact, I would put these fries above 5 guys fries! The sandwiches are made quickly and are an excellent option for a lunch or casual dinner. Mojo's will not disappoint!

If you're from the Delaware Valley (our if you've travelled to Philly) and miss the good stuff, MOJO's is the place! No imitation on the bread: they use the real thing Amoroso - straight from Philly. You will not be disappointed. I grew up 15 minutes from South Street in PHL, and this is the real deal. WIZ WIT!

Stopped in for a Philly for my son. He thought it was awesome and asked me to write a yelp review. I tasted it and thought it was good. My only comment was the price. $10 for a sandwich is a lot. It included fries, which helps, but I would suggest piling on the fries to make it feel like a better deal. Hope they do well.

We've gone there for breakfast and lunch. Breakfast was a egg sausage and cheese sandwich on a bulky roll. Definitely a diner type sandwich with plenty of cheese! Very good price for breakfast. Had a Philly cheese steak for lunch and that was pretty good; a little more pricy for lunch. Overall a good go to place. Wish they were open on Sundays!!

Mojo's has quickly become a family fave! The cheesesteaks and hoagies are delicious and the service is great. We recently catered a large birthday family and the party platters were a massive hit with our guests. We will definitely cater from here again!

the bread + the steak + cheese = authentic Philly in Chicago! City people, don't be shy - it's SO worth the short trip out of downtown. John and his crew are awesome, and everything is made to order, so it's all hot, all d-lish. Rip up those takeout menus - get to mojo's!!

Yo! I grew up in S.Jersey, and finally got to try Mojos. The key is the Amaroso bread. When they told me they bring the bread in, I was sold. After getting a wit wiz and crab fries, I was double sold. Well done!

The only reason I don't give this place a higher rating is the outrageous pricing. I'm pretty sure that's the reason there's never anybody in there. The staff was cool, the place was spotless and the food was pretty darn good. Not $10.99 for a sandwich good.

My husband and I ate lunch here today. It was clean and comfortable. We ordered a cheesesteak and a cheesesteak hoagie. Both were very good. The fries were fresh. The owner was incredibly nice and asked customers how they liked their food. We will be dining here again soon!

The place looks awesome. Everyone has a smile on their face, and are friendly to talk to. We received our order quickly. The portion sizes are just right. Best of all, the sandwiches and sides we had tasted great! I will absolutely be back soon, and if you haven't been yet, you are missing out.

I love mojos and try and stop in whenever I'm in the area. I don't know why but I always feel like it's hard to find a good sandwich with quality ingredients. Jimmy johns just doesn't cut it and I'm happy to pay a couple extra bucks for good food. I normally get the turkey (yes I'm boring). But I know their other sandwiches are good too. Try it out.

I probably eat a Mojo's about once a week. I honestly wasn't a huge fan of cheesesteaks in the past (just not a lot of opportunity to get them around Chicago area). Mojo's has really made me a fan of the cheesesteak. Not only are the cheesesteaks superb, but the meatball sandwiches are fantastic. I really like this place, and it's a great option for lunch.

Tried this for lunch. Very happy! Made to order food...so everything was piping hot and fresh. Plenty of Cheesesteak and Hoagie options to choose from. The original cheesesteak+cheese whiz was delicious! The bun was unbelievably fresh, the ratio of meat-to-bun perfect (I hate too much bread, too much meat!). Meat was finely chopped and well seasoned. Not exactly a "value menu" priced lunch, though I'm happy as the portion and food quality were excellent, IMO. You get what you pay for, right? Lastly, the staff was very friendly and helpful as I was contemplating menu options. I'll be back and I'll bring my family!

The buffalo chicken cheesesteak is the real deal! The taste is so consistent from bite to bite. Chicken good, cheese good, buffalo sauce good, blue cheese good! Did I mention the fries? Fresh cut cooked to perfection!

Fantastic food! I am from the east cost (Virginia) and was lucky enough to experience a true Philly Cheese steak several times in my youth. What I can say about Mojo's is - these guys get it right! Great service as well! Personally I go for either the Duke sandwich, OR the Chicken Cheese Steak with lettuce on a wrap.

We went for a late lunch. The cheesesteak with onions and wiz had a strange flavor, unlike any I've had in Philly or Reading.. The serving of meat was really skimpy for $10.50.............not a very good value. Fries were great. The bread was great! I really looked forward to this meal, and we were disappointed. Something strange about the flavor of the meat! 1:15 PM leftovers? Clean Place, except the table needed a sanitary wipe down., Friendly people!
